Robbie Burns Night

Celtic Traditions
3754 West 10th Avenue
Vancouver, BC

Doors: 7:15pm, Show: 8pm

Join Blackthorn and guest, piper Jim McWilliams, in celebrating the musical traditions of Scotland with a special focus on the songs of Scotland’s National Bard, Robbie Burns.

Robert Burns, born January 25, 1759, poet and lyricist, known affectionately as Rabbie Burns and Scotland’s National Bard is the focus of world-wide celebrations by Scots and their admirers nearly 250 years later. It is Burns’ genius that the sound and rhythm of his words, whether set to music or recited, create an emotional bond that is ageless...an immortal memory of everyday life as relevant today as yesterday.

Jim McWilliams, composer, teacher and piper performs traditional pipe music and joins with Blackthorn in more Scottish melodies.
